He did 'stop' the tanks. They came to a halt.Yes, he was pulled away eventually by friends/associates.He managed to stop a column of 17 tanks for almost a half hour. Dam good if you ask me.
I am guessing if the man had completely stopped the tanks, he would not have remained unknown....
